About us
My name is Jason Chellun, owner and manager of Lakeside. The care home has been looking after
residents for more than 30 years and it was taken over by my family ten years ago.
From day one, my wife and I knew that the focus should not be on superficial luxurious surroundings that are often signs of things lacking elsewhere, but on providing a family environment where residents and their families could feel relaxed and happy.
Each good review received only goes to prove that we are doing things in the right way, providing the sort of caring environment that we would be content to use for our own family. Every person matters and each one is valued for their individual characteristics and personality. Relatives are encouraged to take part in the care process and we invite them to speak to families of other
residents before moving their loved ones into Lakeside. We only feel that we have achieved our aims when both residents and their loved ones are 100% happy with the levels of care delivered.
Accomodation
All rooms are comfortable and cosy, furnished to a high standard. We encourage residents to bring with them their personal effects to make the room feel like their own.
Visitors
Our residents look forward to seeing friends and family. For many, it is the highlight of their day. We encourage visits at any convenient time to suit residents. Children and pets are always made welcome.
Meals
8am – 9.30am – Breakfast
11am – Morning coffee or tea
12pm – 1pm – Lunch
3pm – Afternoon coffee or tea
5pm – 6pm Supper
Food and drinks are served regularly throughout the day at roughly two-hourly intervals. This is
deliberate to ensure that those with reduced appetites can eat smaller amounts frequently. Meals are nutritious and carefully planned, catering to all dietary requirements. If residents want something to eat or drink between meals, this is never a problem. The menu includes plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables and ingredients are locally sourced where possible.
